A graduation ceremony was held on 30 September 2023 for graduates of the first edition of the inter-university postgraduate Master of Business Administration MBA in Healthcare, conducted by Lazarski University, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice and the Medical University of Gdańsk.
The graduation ceremony began with a solemn singing of the Gaudeamus igitur song, after which short speeches were delivered by: Prof. Oskar Kowalski, MD, PhD - Prorector for Postgraduate Education and University Promotion at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Prof. Maciej Rogalski, PhD - Rector of Łazarski University, and Dr. Małgorzata Gałązka-Sobotka, PhD - Vice Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk. Małgorzata Gałązka-Sobotka - Dean of the Postgraduate Education Centre at Łazarski University.
The programme's partners recalled the time when the idea to create the degree programme was conceived, emphasised how important and innovative the degree programme was, and how meeting practitioners and experts conducting classes could be a great added value. - The unique nature of these studies was due to the cooperation of three universities with experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for introducing unconventional changes to the healthcare system," said Prof. Oskar Kowalski.
Also present at the ceremony were Prof. Krystian Wita, MD, PhD - Manager of the postgraduate programme, Prof. Paweł Buszman, MD, PhD - Associate Coordinator, and Grzegorz Dziubanek, MD, Prof. SUM - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Public Health in Bytom. In addition, among the invited guests were Irena Palkij - SUM's Quaestor, together with Monika Wojtasik - Deputy Quaestor, and administrative staff responsible for handling MBA studies from SUM and GUMed. The ceremony was also attended by Łukasz Sypuła, a representative of Medtronic, a partner in the study programme.
A representative of the graduates, Piotr Buszman, MD, prof. nadzw. also spoke, thanking them for preparing the programme and organising the studies.
The highlight of the ceremony was, of course, the presentation of certificates and commemorative diplomas to the graduates of the Master of Business Administration MBA in Healthcare programme. The ceremony ended with the traditional biretta toss and joint commemorative photos.
